Chester Engineers Achieves Higher Ranking on 2010 ENR Top 500 List
Chester Engineers, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, achieved a significant ENR [Engineering News Record] ranking. The preeminent authority for business and technical news with a readership of more than 78,000, ENR publishes an annual list of the Top 500 largest US-based design firms, both publically and privately held, in consideration of design-specific revenue. Chester, positioned at 268 this year, improved their ranking by 70 points over last year.
“We are gaining momentum, evidenced by our higher ranking this year,” says Chester President & CEO, Robert O. Agbede. “Considering how much the economic climate is impacting many industries, this announcement is a testament to our strength as a leading environmental solutions provider that exceeds client expectations. I could cite many examples, nationwide, of why we are successful, how our client-focused teaming philosophy, the Chester Way, solidifies long-term relationships. Several of the projects that we completed in 2009 put us on the map in terms of process innovation and technical leadership.” Agbede concludes.
Last year, the Pittsburgh Business Times recognized Chester as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in Western Pennsylvania, yet the company’s reach is broad. Offices are located throughout the country with operations in strategic international markets. With a staff of 300 engineers, scientists, and other professionals, Chester Engineers is the largest African-American-owned environmental and engineering design firm in the United States.
